On a persistent VDA there are no issues in upgrading win 10 to 1709
Long story short upgrade is failing with PVS by creating a new merged base disk or versioned disk on reboot. I have ensured CItrix personal vdisk and UPM is not installed even for the PVS non persistent VDAs before starting upgrade. I have powered off the VM and login again. choose advanced option and shutdown VM I have choose both the option but the upgrade fails. In the non-persistent VDA i have created a new merged base disk and booted it in maintenance mode, windows 1709 feature update downloaded and the updates got installed, (ensured 40+ GB of free space is left in the system drive) at the end of installation it prompted for reboot.Įntered again in to maintenance mode vdisk by selecting option '1' after windows splash screen it showed 2 optionsĢ. I have also ensured that KB4048953 is installed prior to 1709 upgrade, but this patch is not applicable to the current OS version 1607.
I was able to successfully upgrade win 10 from 1607 to 1709 in a persistent VDA (followed CTX229052) ensured CItrix Personal vDisk and Citrix UPM is not installed before upgrade. We are doing a pilot testing of win 1709 upgrade in both persistent and non persistent VDAs in our environment.
